The ASME Turbo Expo 2024 Exhibition and Conference will take place at the ExCeL London on 24 - 28 June.

The emphasis for this year’s event includes a special focus on achievements and the need to unlock a net-zero future in propulsion and power. To meet these challenges Cross is already helping customers achieve greater sustainability by delivering enhanced performance and efficiency, gained from decades of specialised experience, often for applications in corrosive environments including those involving extreme temperatures and pressures.

Experience in traditional markets including gas and steam turbines, microturbines, turbochargers and aircraft engines is now applicable to the specialised demands of sustainable technologies including hydrogen and green energy. Experts from Cross will be on-hand to offer advice and discuss solutions with service providers, OEMs, researchers and end users aiming towards a net-zero future.

At the Conference Cross will be delivering two papers, co-authored with The University of Bath, discussing the performance and benefits enabled by installing brush seals in specific areas of turbine engine sealing applications.
Cross can provide a complete package for design and manufacture of its sealing, retaining and brush seal products, including the detailed design of customised grooves and housings. The choice of materials can be complex and advice is offered based on test results from the Cross in-house metallurgical laboratory as well as experience of making rings in different alloys for a diverse range of conditions.
