Working hard Feedwater has gone from having negligible web presence to being the most visited UK water treatment website, this is a testament to the successful web marketing and level of high quality information available on the Feedwater website which is why the company has decided to capitalise on their prime position by building an additional website to handle online purchases of water treatment products.

Without the need to even market the new website the company expects to make use of the high level of traffic that currently visits the main website. The aim will be to convert a small percentage into paying customers who may find it useful to find the chemical or product they need and simply click and buy right there and then. The customer can then sit back and take delivery a few days later without any fences or hurdles to jump that other similar sites enforce upon their prospective customers.

Because the shop has the opportunity to see business immediately after launch Feedwater saw the need to entirely rebuild their current website. With careful planning and effort put in to effectively promote available products in the shop, the firm’s main website was rebuilt to still give the high quality water treatment information it has become known for, promote the companies services and products and now provide a suitable platform for the purchase of selected chemicals.

With the increasing popularity of mobile web the company also saw the importance of responsive web design being incorporated into the mix. Responsive web design allows the website to scale to the size of the screen being viewed on; giving desktop, tablet and mobile users the most suitable scale while not limiting down what smaller screens have access to unlike dedicated mobile sites. Feedwater felt it was important to take the opportunity to act now rather than wait to see how and if their clients would follow the same trends as the wider market.

Ben Parkinson from marketing had this to say “It seemed only natural that we do everything all at once and in many ways make it a seamless experience across the whole of the Feedwater web. An engineering manager on his windows XP PC may not necessarily appreciate the website changes but an estates coordinator on his tablet or mobile may phone us almost immediately upon reaching our site rather than sifting through website after website looking for something easy to navigate on his small screen.”
