Mia Electric Car
Emerson companies believe in working closely together to find complete solutions for industry. To demonstrate this philosophy, Control Techniques and Leroy-Somer will be showcasing various joint projects at their stand, such as the new DC Source test rig (DC Quelle) for the automotive industry.

The DC Quelle is a complete solution for testing all types of hybrid and electric vehicles. This advanced test rig both simulates the characteristics of the batteries and saves energy too, by using a common DC bus to re-circulate energy generated during test braking.

Another high-profile exhibit is the ‘mia’ electric car, which incorporates a Leroy-Somer motor. The mia, which went into production in summer, has a high efficiency 10kW asynchronous squirrel-cage, air-cooled AC motor as its means of propulsion.

Available in three configurations, the mia is revolutionary, equipped for urban mobility and developed to fulfil everyday needs.

Other exhibits will include a fascinating ‘all-action’ System Plast conveyor model which uses an advanced multidirectional roller top - yet another example of cooperation between Emerson companies. This modular belt system was developed in a joint effort between System Plast and Control Techniques. The multidirectional roller top incorporates roller balls that are driven by motor/ inverter drives, allowing products to be rotated or moved in any direction to facilitate transfer or new orientation of products, speeding up or slowing down to open or close gaps.
