Firstly, part of the manufacturing process at Kemdent involves the melting of wax. This can result in a large amount of wanted heat being expelled into the air.

The recommendation of heat pump technology at an energy-conservation course prompted Graham Mayoh, Sales and marketing Director at Kemdent to approach Calorex Heat Pumps of Essex. The Heat Pump captures this previously wasted hot air, recycling it to produce a free supply of hot water for the factory. To utilise the large amount of ‘free’ heat produced, Kemdent has combined the Calorex unit with a new gas boiler, linked via a heat exchanger to provide heating for the whole factory, replacing the array of immersion heaters, electric fans and under floor heating previously required.

The Calorex Heat Pump can deliver five times more energy than it consumes helping Kemdent produce wax in an environmentally friendly and inexpensive way. Dentists and Technicians who purchase Kemdent products can now feel confident that Kemdent are manufacturing them in an energy efficient way and reducing emissions to the environment.

Secondly, a unique rolling process imparts excellent handling characteristics to the wax. These characteristics are most important to the final result of a denture. Kemdent modelling waxes can help a technician produce a removable prosthodontic with excellent aesthetic results. Kemdent modelling waxes wax trim easily and cleanly. They will not irritate oral tissues and they not distort unduly in the mouth.
