London Taxis Are Not Just A British Icon
The desire to hail a London Taxi is spreading across Europe as launch events are planned in Italian cities Rome and Milan, Turkish city Istanbul and Malta to keep up with the ever growing demand
50 London Taxis have been ordered for use in Rome and Milan and will be seen in and around these two historic cities from June.
London Taxis France recently exhibited at Salon Des Taxis in Paris, a two day exhibition for the professional taxi trade which resulted in orders for 10 vehicles. As the London Taxis appear on the streets the interest grows and we are fully expecting additional orders to follow.
In Malta, a newly set up company, Dial-a-Cab Ltd, has started offering a chauffeur-driven service round the clock, seven days a week. The company has a fleet of bright yellow cabs that are not just iconic in shape but accessible to all types of passengers. Following the recent launch, Dial-a-Cab has been in undated with calls from business travelers and the general public wanting to ride in the famous London Taxi.
Newly formed Turkish partner, Istanbul Taksi Company, is finalising plans to launch their ‘Maxi’ branded airport transfer and city tour operations using TX4 vehicles. They have placed an initial order for 50 London Taxis.
Ross MacKerron, International Sales Manager for The London Taxi Company, said “2011 has seen a great start with orders from European countries that we have never dealt with before. Launch events over the coming months in different countries will ensure that the London Taxi gets the exposure it deserves as the world’s only purpose-built taxi”.
