Webtec Unveils Phosphate Ester Flow Indicators for Ground Support Equipment Market
Webtec, a leading global manufacturer of hydraulic measurement and control products, is launching its robust, easy-to-use FI 750/1500 series of phosphate ester compatible in-line flow indicators

The new indicators are dedicated to the continuous or intermittent monitoring of flow in hydraulic systems that utilise phosphate ester-based fluids, such as those found commonly in aviation ground support equipment (GSE) and some specialised industrial applications.
Functionally aligned with Webtec’s existing FI series in terms of flow and performance, the new indicators meet the chemical resistance requirements of aviation environments. Purpose-built for phosphate ester hydraulic fluids, the FI 750/1500 series not only eliminates the risk of material incompatibility in GSE systems but also supports aviation OEMs and service providers with a reliable solution tailored to more aggressive fluid environments without introducing unnecessary complexity or cost.
Offering a maximum working pressure of 6,000 psi (420 bar), the flow indicators offer dependable and accurate visual monitoring where electrical power is not available or permitted, such as remote locations or power restricted zones.
Webtec’s FI 750/1500 are mechanically operated devices with no power requirement. A large 2½” (63 mm) dual-scale dial (US gpm and L/min) provides fast, at-a-glance readings that help expedite the commissioning, field service and maintenance of GSE systems. No menu navigation or programming is necessary.
Designed for unidirectional flow up to 66 US gpm (250 L/min), FI 750/1500 indicators – with their rugged and contamination-resistant construction – are optimised for modern, high-capacity GSE systems. Such a robust design makes the devices ideal for hydraulic hangar equipment used in lifting, testing and aircraft relocation activities, as well as mobile carts for aircraft maintenance and servicing. Direct-acting functionality minimises moving parts, resists contamination and extends service intervals, while high-durability EPDM seals support use in conditions extending from the Arctic to the world’s hottest deserts. The flow indicators offer an ambient temperature range of 14 to 122°F (-10 to 50°C).
Webtec’s FI 750/1500 series can be connected into pressure or return lines, with standard porting options (BSPP, SAE) supporting plug and play installation. Suitable for operation in horizontal or vertical mounting orientations, the indicators are accurate to within 4% FSD (full scale deflection) and come with a pressure gauge port for additional diagnostic capability.
