Arab Health Attracts Largest Ever UK Health Delegation

Organised by the Association of British Healthcare Industries (ABHI), Arab Health’s UK Pavilion will showcase world-class innovation and medical expertise from the UK. It will highlight how British developments are transforming the lives of patients and clinicians across the globe.

The centrepiece will be a state-of-the-art operating theatre, equipped with advanced UK technology. In it, visitors will be able to watch Britain’s best surgeons in action. This surgical “stage" celebrates world-class collaborations between healthcare providers, clinicians and healthcare technology companies.

The UK is a world leader in healthcare innovation and is home to some of the world’s most innovative medical technology SMEs, multinationals and leading R&D centres generating £18.1 billion of turnover each year. There are currently 3,268 medical technology companies based in the UK, employing 88,000 people.

Peter Ellingworth, Chief Executive of the ABHI, said: “We are extremely excited to be travelling to the Middle East, with what is our largest ever delegation of UK exhibitors.

The Arab Health Exhibition & Congress is the largest and most prestigious medical trade fair in the Middle East, attended by over 13,000 medical professionals from 163 countries. It began 40 years ago as a small trade show under canvas on a patch of land in Dubai and as the region grew, so did the need for healthcare facilities and infrastructure. The rapid expansion of Arab Health as an exhibition and congress followed suit and it is now recognised as one of the most important global events in the healthcare calendar.

Arab Health 2016 is taking place at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre and throughout the show the UK Pavilion will be located in the Za’abeel Hall 1 (stand Z1D30) and Sheikh Maktoum Hall (stand ME14).
