Keen to enhance the general management capabilities of its Customer Service Cell Leaders, including their knowledge and understanding of core disciplines, Fine Tubes considered a number of options before opting to work with City College.

As a result of the collaboration, a number of Fine Tubes’ Cell Leaders are currently undertaking the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Diploma in First Line Management (QCF) level 3. They began their course at City College in October 2013.

Joe Doherty, Fine Tubes’ Production Manager, commented: “Working with City College has been an excellent experience, right from the initial meeting in which we outlined our requirements. They have tailored a programme that meets our specific needs and we have already seen a significant improvement in the confidence and ability of all the Cell Leaders currently taking the course. Equally important, they themselves have given very positive feedback on both the course content and the quality of the tutors."

Sean Gibson, Key Account Manager at City College Plymouth, added: “As one of the largest training providers in the Plymouth travel-to-work area, we have considerable expertise in delivering further and higher education training which is responsive, flexible and meets the needs of industry. We’re delighted with how well our collaboration with Fine Tubes is developing – and with how well the Fine Tubes’ employees are performing.”
