Naylor Wins Leadership Award

The award was presented at a prestigious awards ceremony held in Leeds, which celebrated the best of Yorkshire business.

Edward became CEO of Barnsley based Naylor on the death of his father Allan in 1993; at the time, Naylor were a struggling £12m manufacturer of clay pipes. He has overseen a programme of diversification and modernisation which has seen Naylor become a growing £80m business based on 7 sites, with a broad range of businesses offering products made out of plastic, concrete and clay.

Naylor has worked hard to retain a family business culture, putting employees and customers first, and has been rewarded by an abundance of both long serving employees and long standing customers. The company has invested heavily in skills and training, having an active apprentice programme and an online training academy, Naylor Knowledge; earlier this year, the company won the Workforce Developer Award in the regional Chamber Business Awards.

Not many family businesses make it into the fourth generation and it’s thanks to a huge team effort that we have reached our 133rd year whilst still growing and prospering. We’re really grateful to the judges for acknowledging all our hard work.”
