One of North Wales’ most popular new tourist attractions, Surf Snowdonia is built on the site of a former aluminium rolling and casting works in the Conwy Valley, on the edge of Snowdonia National Park. The £17m centre features a 300 metre long man-made freshwater wave lagoon and recently opened its door to the public for a second season.

Approximately 700m² of Expona Commercial luxury vinyl tile flooring in the Weathered Country Plank design was installed by Manchester based contractors JDP Flooring in the Surf Side Café and shop inside the centre’s HUB Building. This rustic design features highlighted knots and emphasised grain detailing for an authentic timber effect.

Peter Hinde, General Manager at Surf Snowdonia commented, “This Expona flooring fits perfectly with the natural, inspired by the outdoors interior design scheme we wanted to achieve in the HUB Building. In practical terms, the floor is also coping extremely well with the high number of visitors we are attracting every day.”

The on trend collection of Expona Commercial luxury vinyl tiles includes 55 wood, stone and effects designs which are ideal for heavy commercial environments in the leisure sector where high levels of foot traffic are expected. This hardwearing range has a 2.5mm gauge, a 0.55 wear layer and is further enhanced with PUR, Polyflor’s exclusive and robust polyurethane reinforcement which is cross linked and UV cured for a simple maintenance regime.

Samples of Expona Commercial luxury vinyl tiles can be ordered free of charge on the Polyflor website or by calling the Polyflor Samples Direct Hotline on 0161 767 2551. The Expona Commercial range is also 100% recyclable via the Recofloor vinyl take back scheme.
