Mabey Bridge Commitment To Asia Pacific Region Recognised With An Export Award

This prestigious new competition is aimed at recognising Britain’s leading exporters.

Mabey was amongst five companies shortlisted in the Asia Pacific category. To win the category, judges were looking for evidence of companies that ‘have increased their exports to and sales within Asia-Pacific; demonstrated a commitment to expanding within the region; and demonstrated the value and contribution that exporting to Asia-Pacific can provide to the future of the business’.

In its winning entry, the Company highlighted its lengthy trading history in the region, including Sri Lanka where it has supplied steel bridging to the National Government since the 1970s.

This competition award follows the Company’s success earlier in the year when it was ‘Highly Commended’ by British Expertise International for its Sri Lankan Regional Bridge Project in the award category for ‘Outstanding International Development Project (Infrastructure)’.

Members of Mabey’s management team collected the award at a gala dinner held at St George’s Hall in Liverpool on June 15th which took place after the UK Trade & Export Finance Conference 2016.

Both the UK Export Excellence Awards 2016 ceremony and the UK Trade & Export Finance Conference 2016 are part of the International Festival for Business 2016, an event opened by the Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne MP on June 13th and which has attracted over 30,000 delegates to Liverpool.
