The aim is to help customers looking to convert their cultivators and drills take advantage of the many new options available from the Canadian company.

Manufacturer-fitted Bourgault parts, to machines in the Great Plains, Claydon, Sumo and other ranges, will continue to be supplied by manufacturer-appointed dealers. All other sales will now be directed through two main stocking dealers. The company has appointed J.Brock & Sons and Wallace of Kelso as dealer distributor partners for the UK and Ireland who will stock a range of frequently used Bourgault parts, as well as some interesting new drilling combinations.

“In the 15 years since we introduced the Bourgault Speed-Loc system to UK farmers,” says Martin Lishman Managing Director Gavin Lishman, “these two dealers have demonstrated their superior knowledge when it comes to understanding new thinking in cultivation and drilling. J.Brock & Sons have a strong track record in machine upgrades and conversions and carry a comprehensive stock for fast delivery. Wallace of Kelso, with agronomic as well as machinery expertise, appreciate their customers’ changing tillage needs and have repeatedly pointed them in the direction of the Bourgault system.”

The new Bourgault Tillage Tools Versatile Opener System (VOS) has presented many possibilities for drill conversions which tie in nicely with some of the latest views on seed and fertiliser placement and will appeal to farmers who are exploring new ways to improve their soil husbandry. As Peter Gilder, Parts Manager at J.Brock & Sons says, “For many years now we have been impressed by the innovative approach of the Bourgault systems. More recently, some of our customers have been trialling the new VOS system, with impressive results.

Lower disturbance, better seed and fertiliser placement and excellent wear rates have already been reported – all aspects which have given us the confidence to invest in the range and promote it to more of our customers.”
