If cold stores are not installed correctly with a thermal barrier in the floor then frost can build up in the ground as the cold penetrates through the base of the cold room. If the cold room is situated on an upper floor then the cold penetrates through the floor to cause serious condensation problems on the ceiling of the room below.

These issues can be prevented by using a low voltage heating system fitted into the substrate of the floor of the cold room and regulated through a control panel to ensure frost does not penetrate the barrier. Low voltage systems are also used around cold room doors and for the thresholds of entrances to cold rooms to prevent condensation and ice build-up.

As specialists in manufacturing and supplying these systems for over twenty years Thermatek can support you and provide the solutions to prevent frost and condensation.
