By using metal additive manufacturing, or 3D printing, as well as traditional subtractive methods, Croft has been able to expand the range of products it creates, providing its customers with ground-breaking solutions to fit their business needs.

As product testing is often only possible in-situ, Croft operates a continual support programme, where each product is trialled by the customer. The results and observations collected during that time are used to feed into any further revisions that need to be made.

Neil Burns, director at Croft, explained: “During the past year, we have strived to drive innovation through the use of additive manufacturing and investment in new, state-of-the-art machinery. These developments, which have been led by changing customer needs, have given us the ability to deliver high-quality, never-before-possible solutions and, in turn, increase the our profitability.

“With 23 per cent of our employee time spent on problem solving and in-depth training, we have proven that we are dedicated to developing new techniques and identifying advanced technologies that will give us access to the most up-to-date and innovative manufacturing methods in the world.”

The winners of The Manufacturer MX Awards 2015 will be announced at an Awards Dinner on November 26th.
