ISSEE has taken a bold step by developing its own assessor centre. We already accredit our training through awarding bodies such as City & Guilds and Homeland Security Qualifications, and we are now able to offer Assessor and Internal Verifier Training accredited through Open Awards.

This allows ISSEE to train external candidates as Level 3 Assessors and Level 4 Internal Verifiers to enable assessment of competency in their working environment.

In order to manage the new centre, Brendan Vanner has joined the team at ISSEE who will be heading up the Assessment & Quality Assurance training for Assessors and Internal Quality Assessors. Brendan served 25 years in the Royal Engineers and ran a successful qualification business delivering Munition Clearance Qualifications to the British Army, Navy and Air Force.

Brendan quotes – “With new methods of learning evolving, such as 70:20:10 (70% Experiential Learning, 20% Social Learning, 10% Formal Learning), the need for assessment in the working environment is growing”.

Larger companies are employing trained Assessors and Verifiers to carry out these tasks as a primary job role, however, smaller companies cannot employ personnel solely to conduct assessment of workplace competence. ISSEE can also help here!

We also offer an Assessor and Verifier service to lessen the burden.

Training can either take place at the candidates’ own work place or at our dedicated training facility in Heythrop Park (Enstone). This consists of both theory and practical training. Courses are available from July onwards and enquiries can be made through the ISSEE Website.
