Lighting The Way At The European Rental Awards

Morris have been shortlisted for the ‘Most Sustainable Rental Product of the Year’ award.

Designed, built and developed in Great Britain by the team at Morris Site Machinery, the SMC Solar-2, Britain’s first solar tower light, is a sustainability success story, heralding a new dawn in temporary site lighting.

The tower is solar and battery operated and has no engine which means it provides 100% fuel saving, emits zero CO2 and zero noise and requires minimal service. Its high quality LED lamps offer 50,000 hours of life. The machine itself has a ten year life and is completely recyclable.

The first proud owners of the SMC Solar-2 in the UK are Mainline Tool & Plant Hire. Coralie Mortimer, Marketing Manager at Mainline Tool & Plant Hire said: “We like to offer customers all the latest equipment and technology so these ground-breaking new solar lights from Morris Site Machinery were top of our shopping list. Our customers were quick to see the benefits and the lights barely touched the ground in our depot before they were out on a twelve month hire contract.
