Richard Boultbee has assumed responsibility for the Swindon-based group’s UK and European parking arms as well as transport ticketing, cash management and mobile logistics solutions.

Aged 39, Richard joined the Metric Group 11 years ago after a local authority career spanning a decade.

He qualified as a civil engineer in Amber Valley Borough Council’s capital projects department which at the time was responsible for the regeneration of four market towns.

Richard was the project manager for the introduction of pay and display parking as well as other parking services for the authority, which became a customer of Metric.

When installed he was given the task of operating and running the parking system throughout the borough of Amber Valley where he has fond memories of working.

At Metric he has progressed from Sales Executive to Field Sales Manager, UK Sales Manager and now to Director of Sales and Marketing for the group.

“All divisions of the group for which I have responsibility have exciting elements for the future,” said Richard. “On the parking side our VivoPark solution has taken off and is performing very well.

“Our pay on foot solution now has the profile to compete against any system, which makes it an exciting time for us. Cash Infinity, within our Cash Management portfolio, has an exciting future because it has so many applications.

“These include retail, leisure and self service point of sale across transport, with Metric trialling solutions with Virgin Trains and the rolling out of systems to the cash and carry sector. Again, we are geared up for an exciting year in 2015.

“On the transport ticketing side we are building on the heritage of the Almex product and we have some really innovative complimentary products coming out next year which we are confident will really be embraced by the market place.

“On the mobile solutions side we have some high street names continuing to use the systems for their logistics. Farm Foods and Specsavers are amongst these.”

Added Richard: “This year has been one of innovation for Metric and we have been successful in providing really great solutions across the group. As a result, I am confident we shall see exciting years ahead with these innovations.”
