TAL will display an array of innovative fibre and fabric technologies from its Agrotas product range that aid efficient water management.

IPM Essen is the world’s leading trade fair for horticulture. It is the only specialist trade fair of its kind to cover the entire value chain of plants, including production, technology, floristry, garden features, and the point of sale. No other plant fair offers trade visitors such a comprehensive market overview and so many multifaceted novelties. Taking place between 27 and 30 January 2015 in Essen it will represent exhibitors from over 50 countries and trade visitors from more than 100 countries. This is the first time TAL will have taken a stand but further to a successful outing at Greentech in June this year, it is expecting a busy four days.

TAL will be on one of the Commercial Horticultural Association managed UK Pavilions in the main technical hall (Hall 3). Its unique SAF technology creates new possibilities for the development of fabrics that can be used for short and long-term solutions, from hanging basket liners to commercial scale projects, even in areas of low water availability. Such technical fabrics are designed to achieve highly controlled delivery of water and nutrients to root systems, whilst significantly reducing evaporative loss and water seepage. SAF can also be dosed directly to the soil.

“We have developed and tested a strong portfolio of products for this market,” explains Commercial Manager Stuart Coomber. “From liner fabrics for baskets to durable fabrics that can be buried below the grounds surface, our super absorbent technology offers a solution for anyone looking to reduce water usage or have a need to ensure plants don’t dehydrate during transportation. We can supply our technology as a fibre or as a finished fabric.

“Wherever there is a requirement to manage water and nutrient delivery in a controlled and environmentally safe way, we can help devise a solution. At IPM Essen we will have a team of development specialist’s on-hand to introduce visitors to our technology and meet about specific projects if required.”
