Whether dealing in English or another language, clear and culturally sensitive communication is key to success.

Showing that you have taken the time and the trouble to understand 'where your customer is coming from' will break down barriers and make exporting easier and more enjoyable for you - as well as more lucrative.

Now in its tenth year, this hugely popular annual seminar offers a wealth of practical tips and strategies for approaching whichever markets are important for you.

The outline programme:

The language of culture: speaking English, acting internationally
An interactive, warm up session on culture

Spotlight on the US: Making money from the UK's top export destination?
Beyond the language and cultural ties linking the UK and US, join us to find out what makes Americans in business tick to ensure your growth there will be successful and profitable.

Spotlight on India: Twenty-nine states, seven territories, 1.23 billion people - and how to do business with them. Strong historic links to the UK make India an appealing prospect, but cultural differences must be considered if success is to follow.

Clear English: be heard and understood.
Don’t fall into the trap of assuming your clients know what you’re talking about even if their standard of English seems very good. This session will help you fine tune your message for a foreign audience.

Translation: ignore this at your peril.
Find out how to ensure a good result.

Research, research, research: so many countries, so little time.

Studying your market is at the cornerstone of good export strategy. This session will give you some practical help to save you time and effort, ensuring that you’re using all the tools at your disposal
