The machine is going into one of the company’s European production sites to enhance its standing in the cereal market.

The system uses the Jacob White NSX6 automatic cartoner to take cereal bags of various weights and sizes from two bagging units and transfers them into NSX6 units infeed pockets.

They are then transferred through the machine where a carton is vacuum picked from a carton magazine and erected in time with the product pockets.

The cereal bag is then pushed into the box, which is sealed using a hot melt glue spraying system. Within the machine a laser printer is mounted to print relevant information onto the carton.

Once sealed the boxes are checked electronically to confirm that they are sealed correctly before proceeding onto a checkweigher after which they are turned through 90 degrees to stand on edge ready for collation and case packing.

The system operates at speed up to 120 cartons per minute and will provide high-speed production and labor savings.
