This course will be of interest to those in industry who have responsibility for product formulation, or quality and process control, and working in the areas of product formulation and process plant design, selection and operation.

This course aims to provide an understanding of the rheological properties of a wide range of fluid types, including: high viscosity liquids, slurries, pastes, emulsions, polymer solutions and melts. The properties to be explored include viscosity and yield stress, as well as complex viscosity, extensional viscosity, normal stress, and other viscoelastic properties. The course will provide details of the various methods to measure many of these properties.

Confirmed Course Topics presented by BHR Group world renowned rheology experts:

1. Viscosity and the Flow Curve
2. Flow Curve Measurement and Interpretation
3. Estimation of Relevant Shear Rates for Flow Curve Measurement
4. Laboratory Viscometer Selection
5. Viscosity Measurements using Index Testers
6. Selecting an On-Line Viscometer – A Case Study
7. Yield Stress and its Measurement
8. Rheological Design for Suspending Solids
9. Viscoelasticity – Transient Dynamic Properties
10. Viscoelasticity – Complex Dynamic (Oscillatory) Properties
11. Use of Viscoelastic Properties to Solve Industrial Problems
12. Normal Stress
13. Extensional Viscosity
