TSSE (Torishima Service Solutions Europe) provision of asset life extension solutions, were referred to Croft to see if they could supply a specialist filter vessel for one of their clients. The vessel was to be used to filter water on a brand new ‘Haggis’ production line, which was being installed against very tight deadlines.

The production line was scheduled to be of officially opened by representatives from one of the UK’s biggest supermarket chains in only 3 days. Croft needed to respond with a design specification, following approval they then needed to manufacture the filtration system and finally dispatch the finished product ready for installation by TSSE within 3 days. Croft once again rose to the challenge, met the deadline and exceeded expectations.

Croft Engineering Services used their expertise to identify the best option for this production line and a Duplex system was the chosen solution. Having the facility to switch over from one chamber to another to keep the production moving was one of the requirements with the vessels manufactured in food quality stainless steel. The filter assemblies inside the vessel were to work down to 500 microns and needed to be constructed in stainless steel so they could be washed.

Within 36 hours the vessel was delivered by special courier to Edinburgh, Scotland from Croft’s Cheshire manufacturing base where an installation team were ready to start work. Deadline met.

Mr Merv Proctor, Sales Director at TSSE Coatbridge commented, “The turnaround time on the project was second to none. We were very impressed by Croft’s dedication and expertise to this challenging task and whilst other companies were looking at solutions, Croft had delivered on what we required. The solution was cost effective, on time and our client was more than pleased. If further projects arise we will definitely give Croft the opportunity to provide a solution”

Neil Burns of Croft Engineering Services added “Tight deadlines and solution led manufacturing to meet the needs of our customers is all part of the Croft service”
