The upgrade will include the latest Diamond Visionics Genesis visual graphics, and the Merlin S’Fun Matlab interface software.

Dr. Nicholas Bodjo from The University of Manchester said:-

‘We are delighted to announce a raft of upgrades to our existing Merlin Flight Simulation suite, here at the University of Manchester. The installation of real-world visuals and 3D viewer will greatly enhance the realism of the simulated environment, which not only benefits the user experience, but will give our facility the ‘wow’ factor in its new home, centre stage in the brand new Manchester Engineering Campus building. Meanwhile, the Matlab interface will enable near real-time flight dynamics data processing for more efficient teaching, and will provide our award-winning Flight Simulation Society another tool in their IT FLIES competition arsenal!’
