The Association of British HealthTech Industries (ABHI) is inviting UK HealthTech companies to join the ABHI UK Pavilion at WHX Cape Town 2025, taking place from 2 - 4 September 2025 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.

The event offers a unique platform for UK innovators to partner with African healthcare providers, distributors, and policymakers, helping to shape the future of healthcare across the continent through meaningful collaboration and trusted technology.

With a rapidly expanding population, growing middle class and increasing investment in healthcare infrastructure, Africa represents one of the world’s most dynamic and fast-evolving markets. The continent’s healthcare systems are undergoing widespread digitalisation, with governments and private sector organisations seeking trusted global partners to meet pressing demands across diagnostics, medical devices, and digital health.

WHX Cape Town (formerly Africa Health) is the continent’s largest healthcare exhibition and presents a vital platform for UK companies to build strategic partnerships, access procurement networks, and connect with key stakeholders from across the region.

“WHX Cape Town is an essential event for UK HealthTech companies looking to enter or grow in African markets,” said Michelle Michelucci, Head of International Events at ABHI

“There is a clear appetite across the continent for high-quality, affordable healthcare solutions and UK companies are well-placed to meet this demand with proven innovation, strong regulatory expertise and a global reputation for quality. The ABHI UK Pavilion offers a powerful springboard into this exciting and expanding market.”

Africa’s healthcare needs are vast and varied, with strong demand across areas including:

• Digital Health & Health IT – Improving digital infrastructure, telehealth delivery and data tracking.
• Affordable Diagnostics – Cost-effective solutions to enable early detection and care in urban and rural areas.
• Medical Devices & Equipment – From lab diagnostics to clinical consumables and imaging tools.
• Sustainable Technologies – Energy-efficient, durable solutions suited to areas with limited infrastructure.

With over 50% of WHX Cape Town attendees involved in procurement, distribution or agency roles, UK companies have a unique opportunity to forge new relationships and develop a strong foothold across multiple African markets.

Exhibiting with the ABHI UK Pavilion includes:

• Prime Connections – Access to high-level delegations, hosted buyer programmes, and targeted networking opportunities.
• Government-Backed Support – In-market guidance from the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) and introductions to commercial officers across key regions.
• Enhanced Brand Presence – A custom-designed, UK-branded stand and inclusion in ABHI’s PR, digital and media outreach before and during the event.
• Market Expertise – On-the-ground insights and regulatory briefings to support long-term export success.

In 2024, the show generated over $117 million in business, highlighting the scale of opportunity for exhibitors.

“Whether you are exploring distribution partnerships, launching new innovations, or seeking to understand regional regulations, WHX Cape Town is the place to be,” added Michelucci. “We are proud to support UK companies in building sustainable, long-term relationships across the continent.”
