Denso Products Chosen For New Borders Railway

The official opening by Her Majesty the Queen in September this year marked the completion of the £294million contract to construct the 30 miles of track and seven new stations.

During the construction of the project Winn & Coales supplied the UK-wide building and civil engineering company Farrans Construction with 150mm wide Denso Tape to protect pipeline joints in ten different water diversions.

Densoband was supplied to Advance Construction (Scotland) of Glasgow (through stockists SIG), to provide a flexible watertight seal between the asphalt and the tactile paving slabs on the platforms of four of the new stations.

Densoband is a preformed sealing strip which is widely used for sealing joints between asphalt to asphalt, concrete and road castings in road construction, bridge expansion joints and on airport runway joints.
