An exhibition entitled ‘Clockworks’ has been organised as part of the Hour Leeds campaign. Celebrities from the fields of sport, entertainment, music, politics and the arts were invited to spend one hour of their time creating a unique clock face, for the exhibition.

More than 40 famous names have taken up their brushes including musicians the Kaiser Chiefs, Alison Moyet and Julian Lloyd Webber and sports personalities Paul Collingwood, Nicola Adams, Peter Lorimer and Jamie Peacock. Playwright Sir Alan Ayckbourn CBE and chef Raymond Blanc were also joined by the Prime Minister, David Cameron in submitting a clock face for this very worthwhile cause.

Following the exhibition, which is to be held in Leeds from 21-28 June, the clocks will be auctioned to raise funds for the Hour Leeds campaign to help destitute families in the area.

All designs can be viewed on the Hour Leeds Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/hourleeds2013 where bids can be made by email up until 5 July.

The Hour Leeds campaign highlights the problem of poverty faced by people at a local level and asks members of the public to donate one hour of their earnings to the charity to help those who live close by.

Other artists involved in the exhibition include musicians David Essex and Bellowhead, MPs Hilary and Tony Benn and BBC Political Editor Nick Robinson.
