Emergency Tank Showers
... as stipulated by ANSI Z358.1-2009 and are ideal for external use from minus 20 to plus 40 degrees centigrade and their arctic units are certified for temperatures ranging down to minus 40 degrees centigrade.

With freezing temperatures becoming the norm during the winter months, these safety showers have been specifically designed to stand up to extreme conditions and have already been in operation in some of the most inhospitable areas of the world.

Models GFTS12L, GFTS12 316, GFTS15 and GFTS22 provide wider access and an integral eyebath, which can be operated by the user at the same time as the shower. Each of the emergency tank showers guarantees the delivery of 15 minutes of TEPID water at a minimum flow rate of 76 litres/minute, regardless of the incoming supply.

Importantly, the water supply is contained in a header tank and controlled at a nominal 17-18°C with its own robust heating element. This keeps the water temperature to below the threshold of Legionella thereby eliminating its proliferation. Additionally, using TEPID water avoids the cold water ‘experience’ which has the effect of closing the skin’s pores which can trap any contaminant so hampering attempts to wash it off. Freezing water can also exacerbate the problem as there is the potential of the user going into thermal shock.

These emergency tanks are manufactured in corrosion resistant materials and meet fully regulated health and safety standards. These units can be fitted with many optional extras : e.g visual water level indicator, Local & remote alarms, low water level alarm, lighting and an innovative heated changing room facility with spring loaded doors.
